Holiday Light Festival in November 2010.
Throughout the year, the Friends provide help to the library by sponsoring special events, exhibits, and ongoing programs for the North Reading community. Some of these events include:
Flint Memorial Library and the Friends are now participating in a program called Amazon Associates. When you purchase anything (anything!) by connecting to Amazon from the home page or the Friends page, Amazon sends the Friends a rebate of approximately 4% of the purchase price. So if you link to Amazon from the library website and buy $100 of sporting goods, jewelry, books, or DVDs the library and Friends would get a rebate of $4.00.
This is an easy way to support the library. Whenever you are buying gifts or something for yourself, try a search on Amazon from the library website first! We thank you.
This money will be used to support library programs, including
programs for children, teens, speakers, museum passes and other
library needs.

The Friends have partnered with Big Hearted Books of Foxboro. Look for the donation bins in the library parking lot and at Eastgate Plaza.
The Friends welcome your donations of good-condition books,CDs, DVDs, VHS, records, and cassettes for the upcoming Book Sale. Please drop them in the bin or call Big Hearted Books:
1-508-203-9483 for pick-up.

The Books Sales have historically served many purposes -- as a fundraiser for the Friends primarily, but also as a social gathering where people can stock up on reading material for all ages. The Friends have always been dependent on the generosity of the townspeople who donate books in great quantities. It's all a wonderful example of green recycling. These books have many lives. They give pleasure to all their owners, past, present and future.
None of this will change, but this new partnership with Big Hearted Books will enhance the presentation of materials at the Books Sales and allow a venue to sell some donations online, maximizing the profits received from donations.
